IRONMAN 70.3 OCEANSIDE TRIATHLON 2022 ADVENTURE
Ironman Oceanside 70.3 Triathlon 2022 was 2 years in the making for us. We signed up for Ironman 70.3 Lubbock two years ago. We were race-ready and 3 days prior to the race, the event was canceled due to COVID. Four deferral races later we finally lined up at the start line.
It was an awesome 4-day getaway! We drove our truck and trailer and stayed in an RV park in Oceanside, California called Oceanside R.V. Resort. The RV Park was just down the road from the Ironman Oceanside 70.3 venue.
Other than gas prices being over $5 BUCKS A GALLON in California the trip was awesome!
DEL MAR BEACH
On our way to Oceanside, we pulled over to have dinner on the beach in Del Mar, CA, and watched the sun go down.
We tried to see if we could boondock overnight to stay on the beach but there was NO overnight camping in the beach parking lot.
SOLID DAY OF RACING
We had perfect race day weather!
Mimi had a solid race and made the podium and qualified for Ironman 70.3 World Championships in St. George, Utah in October 2022.
To celebrate Mimi’s performance and qualifying for 70.3 World Championship we had a dinner celebration at Municipal Taco in Oceanside, CA. The tacos were excellent and would highly recommend the restaurant if you are in Oceanside.
